Open Studios / Jan van Eyck Academie / Maastricht

Marjet Zwaans seeks proximity to the people and material she works with. For Jan van Eyck Open Studios she creates a polyphony of voices and materials.  Her studio presents the material and referential source of lichen as economic metaphor, with a collaborative logic. From the studio the concept unfolds in different collaborations, presented in diverse common spaces of the Jan van Eyck Academie building: in and with the Print and Publishing Lab, in group show 'the Wall at the end of the Rainbow' curated by Natasha Marie Llorens and in a choir performance in collaboration with musicians from Conservatory Maastricht.
